Eisenhower Golf Course in Crownsville is a hilly layout with a seven-acre pond and several creeks that come into play on a number of holes. Anne Arundel County's premier public golf course is just one of the attractions to Crownsville besides its proximity to Annapolis, Maryland's historic state capitol city.

Each summer and fall, you can experience Medieval times coming to life at the Renaissance Festival in Crownsville. Colorfully costumed performers sing, dance, joust and generally re-create scenes of that period, to the delight of visitors. You can even rent costumes to get in the spirit yourself, or hold a themed wedding in front of the chapel.

The Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds is located in Crownsville, as well, but Crownsville is not known so much for all of her recreational activites. The area is better known as a quiet residential area near Annapolis, with waterfront along the Severn River.

Some Crownsville communities were summer homes and vacation destinations in the early 20th century for Washington and Baltimore residents who wanted to escape the heat for water-oriented activities like fishing and boating. However, these communities are now occupied by year-round residents who treasure those same pursuits and the convenient location.
