But how can you know if the dream home you find is located in a safe neighborhood, if the local school is comparable to your children’s current school, or how the state and local real estate laws, taxes, and fees may impact this property?

Sell or Rent My Current Home?
Circumstances have changed in your life, and now you’re leaving the area. Making a decision to rent or sell your current home is one that only you can make, based on your personal situation and the local real estate market. I can provide you some perspective on both options, however, based on current market conditions and my years of experience in real estate.
RENTING is not for the faint of heart, as any landlord will tell you. There’s always the risk of vacancy, maintenance issues, property damage, and late payments. There are benefits, as well, such as retaining ownership of an asset while your tenant covers the payments and expenses… or growing your equity through payments and appreciation. If you’re leaving the area, however, I strongly recommend professional rental management.
SELLING is the choice of relocating home owners who want to re-invest the equity in their current home in their next home. Unfortunately, some of today’s home owners have little or no equity in their current home, but selling with a short sale will bring closure to the situation and allow a fresh start.
