Laurel Real Estate (20707, 20708,20723,20724)

Laurel is an incorporated city situated midway between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., along the Rt. 1 corridor and the Patuxent River.

Its location between these two cities contributed to the importance of this area from its early days when this was a small industrial town and transportation hub for the railroad. Today, the community is convenient to several local area employers, including Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Lab, Ft. George G. Meade, and the National Security Agency (NSA).

Although the incorporated portion of Laurel is bounded entirely within the northern tip of Prince George’s County, three other counties are adjacent to the city limits and considered to be part of the Laurel community – Anne Arundel, Howard, and Montgomery Counties.

This busy crossroad for commuters and commerce offers homeowners their choice of condos, townhouses and detached homes that are modestly priced by area standards. Shopping, dining, and recreation opportunities abound in and around the city, not to mention those in nearby Washington, Baltimore, and Annapolis.

Laurel is home to the famed Laurel Park Racetrack, where you can still enjoy live thoroughbred horse racing.
