Marina in Edgewater, MD

Edgewater, Maryland, is located just across the South River Bridge from Annapolis and Riva, with Mayo to the east and  Davidsonville to the West.

Until recently, this was a fairly sleepy area with a few high-end waterfront homes along the South River, but mostly modest single-family homes.

New development in recent years has brought new townhouses, detached homes, commercial development, and a golf course to the area – along with that, a new image and higher property values. A large public school complex includes South River H.S. – a Maryland Blue Ribbon School, a Green School, and a Wellness School of Distinction.

Home prices in the area range from the $200,000′s to nearly four million dollars for large waterfront properties. Several neighborhoods are located along the South River and its tributaries, including private and public marinas. Each has its own personality, but one thing they have in common is their laid-back ambiance.

In addition to its residential neighborhoods, Edgewater is home to Lee Airport, the Golf Club at South River, and historic Londontown and Gardens.

Lee Airport is a privately owned public-use facility that is just five nautical miles from downtown Annapolis.

The Golf Club at South River was built in 1996 and converted to a private club in 2011. Since the decision to go private, the golf course and club house have undergone extensive renovations.

Historic Londontown and Gardens includes the 18th century William Brown House, reconstructed colonial buildings, an ongoing archeological project, and a 23 acres museum and park.
