Davidsonville, Maryland (21035)
Davidsonville, Maryland, is located south of Crofton, west of Annapolis, and east of Bowie at the intersection of Maryland Routes 424 and 214 (Central Ave).
The Historic District of this community consists of fifteen properties near this intersection, including three churches, one commercial building, and eleven houses. They represent the period from the area’s settlement in the 1830’s through the early 20th century.
Joint Base Andrews is approximately a half hour west, and there’s a commuter parking lot at Route 424 and Maryland Route 50 for express bus service to Washington, D.C.
If you love horses or just open space, you will appreciate this community. It’s an area with agricultural roots that maintains its rural character in spite of some upscale development. Commercialism and multi-family housing are not evident in the 21035 zip code, and very few neighborhoods have public water and sewer.
If you live anywhere in Anne Arundel County, you will probably have occasion to visit Homestead Gardens, the area’s one commercial landmark – if not to purchase plants for your garden, at least to enjoy their magical holiday display and fall festival.
The community is also home to Renditions Golf, where each of the 18 holes represents a signature hole from famous golf courses around the world, such as Augusta National or Winged Foot. This is a daily-fee facility open to anyone and the site of golf outings for businesses and organizations throughout the region.
Since most homes are situated on acreage, prices tend to run upward of $500,000. However, there are a few neighborhoods with smaller less expensive homes on half acres lots.
If you’re looking for property to farm or keep horses, Davidsonville is a place you should look for a home!
